Anantapur, April 23, (Janaswaram): A special awareness seminar on the safety of women and children was conducted at the Anantapur Police Conference Hall. District SP P. Jagadeesh attended the event as the chief guest and addressed the gathering. He explained how women can receive immediate help during emergencies through the Shakti App and the Stree Raksha portal. He also spoke about the harmful effects of child marriages and the implementation of the POCSO Act, emphasizing that everyone must act responsibly in protecting the rights of children. In light of the increasing cybercrimes, the SP warned people to stay alert against digital arrest scams, loan app frauds, and OTP frauds. He mentioned that crimes against women have decreased compared to the past. On this occasion, woman member Ragi Radhika advised students to develop the ability to distinguish between the good and bad aspects of social media usage. She encouraged them to use social media not only for entertainment but also for knowledge and personal development. She also urged students to share any problems with their parents, stating that parents are the true guides in life. The program was attended by DSP V. Srinivasa Rao, Bar Association President Padmaja, Advocate Shashikala, women members, and students.
