Anantapur, June 18 (Janaswaram): The Journalists Association of Andhra Pradesh (JAP) submitted a memorandum to the District Collector on Tuesday, urging the government to resolve the long-pending issues of journalists at the earliest. Speaking on the occasion, JAP District President Nagendra Yadav said that journalists have been serving as a crucial bridge between the government and the public for decades and have played a significant role in highlighting public issues and contributing to social development. He expressed concern that several welfare-related issues of journalists remain unresolved and demanded that the government provide house sites, health security, educational fee concessions, and various welfare benefits to media personnel. He stated that journalists, who work tirelessly in the interest of society, deserve proper recognition, protection, and welfare support. He urged the government to positively consider and address their concerns. The District Collector, who received the memorandum, assured the delegation that the issues would be examined and necessary steps would be taken towards their resolution. JAP District General Secretary Jogireddy, along with leaders Rajanna Ramesh, Chandrasekhar Reddy, Guruprasad, and others, participated in the programme.
