Round Table Meeting on Dappu Artists Welfare Held in Vijayawada

Amaravati, April 03 (Janaswaram): A round table meeting of Dappu artists was organized in Vijayawada under the aegis of the Bharatiya Janata Party SC Morcha, where State President PVN Madhav attended as the chief guest and stated that steps would be taken to address the issues faced by Dappu artists, including increasing pensions, restoring “Dandora” posts in the panchayat system, and providing opportunities in government awareness programs. On this occasion, Satya Sai district SC Morcha President Dr. Gopinath emphasized the need for a comprehensive plan to improve the livelihood of artists across the state and suggested identifying their issues and creating sustainable income opportunities. Leaders also highlighted the importance of preserving the Dappu art form by establishing training centers, encouraging youth participation, and providing health insurance and financial security to artists, while stressing that giving priority to Dappu artists in festivals and official programs would strengthen their livelihoods. The meeting was attended by SC Morcha State President Pannatala Suresh, other leaders, and several Dappu artists.
